What Will the New Royal Baby Boy be Called?

Another British Royal baby boy was born on 24th April 2018 - St George's Day and already speculation about possible names is rife in the press. George would be a great choice but his older brother is already called George. There is so much to consider about names. The Telegraph writes about why the new baby is unlikely to be called John. Nothing wrong with John - unless there's a chance you might become King.

Bookies have slashed the odds on the predicts the baby might be called Arthur, James, Philip or Albert.

We wait with bated breath!

Royal Baby Names for Your New Baby Boy

On Monday 22nd July 2013 the Prince of Cambridge and heir to the British throne, was born in London at 4.24 in the afternoon and was named George Alexander Louis but have you ever stopped to think how the Royals choose their baby names?

The choices for the royal baby boys names is limited - probably - and three have already gone. The royals tend to choose names from a small pool of traditional names drawn from the history of the royal family and, as with non-royal names, the choice for a little prince is more restricted than the choice for a little princess.

The day after the birth of little George Alexander Louis, according to The Daily mail, the popular baby names for the heir with the bookies was James at 2/1. On the 23rd July. James overtook the favorite boys' names, George and Henry (now 5/1).

How The Last Royal Baby Boy's Birth Was Celebrated

And how the prince was named

The first thing that happened, as far as we, the audience are concerned, is that a notice of the birth was posted outside Buckingham Palace, announcing the birth, the sex and the weight of the baby.

2,013 specially made silver coins have been pressed by the royal mint. These will be given to other, non-royal babies also born on 22nd July 2013.

Members of The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery fire a 41-gun salute in Green Park. 6 First World War-era 13-pounder field guns were pulled by 71 magnificent horses. simultaneously, from Gun Wharf at the Tower of London, a 62-gun royal salute was fired by soldiers from the Honourable Artillery Company.

On Tuesday 23rd July the new Prince was presented by William and Kate 24 hours after a natural birth. Prince William said they were "still working on a name".

The baby will be called HRH Prince XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX XXXX of XXXXXXX, and he will almost certainly have several first names. Prince Charles is also called Philip Arthur George, and William, the baby's father is called four - William Arthur Philip Louis.

We might have to wait a bit, too, to find out what the name is. The wait for the name of Princess Beatrice was two weeks, and for Charles we had to wait a month! (One week per name). I expect that the thinking will be a bit quicker now. Goodness - not that quick! the Prince's name was announced on Wednesday evening. I heard it on the news about 5.30pm. How come they used to spin it out for a month?

Apparently it will be left to the Duke and Duchess to choose the names. Once chosen the Queen will be informed and they will then be announced officially.

Why I Think It's A Shame It Wasn't a A Girl Last Time

For the first time in history she would have become Queen in her own right

The law is changing in Britain and if the new baby royal had been a girl, she would have become heir to the throne even if she had subsequently had brothers.

That would have meant that we would have had as many queens as kings in the future, instead of having to wait for a moment when there was absolutely no male around that could become king.

Still, a healthy child is always a great relief and lets hope that this little king-to-be turns out to be a good one.
