Wouldn't it be lovely to be surrounded by the heather-covered hills of the moors above the Pennine town of Hebden Bridge? Country walks, wild bilberries, country pubs and wonderful scenery.

Hebden is just brilliant for walks. Take in the shady river walks through bluebell woods, or clime until you are top of the world and share the moors that the Bronte sisters knew and loved.

A cottage with beams and original fire places

Chiserley Field Side is one of a few terraced cottages with their own, private road and parking outside the house. You will enter the cottage by the front door and find yourself in the living room, complete with beamed ceiling and stone fireplace. Sadly, the stove has been replaced since this photo was taken, but it would be easy to install a new one!

A generous window has views over the village and lets in plenty of light.

To the left is a galley kitchen also with pleasant village views.

Spacious for a cottage

From the living room you take the stairs to the first floor, where there is small hall leading to a double bedroom and bathroom. From both these rooms you have lovely views over the village and countryside.

Stairs lead from the hall to the top floor bedroom.

The bedroom in the attic space runs the length of the house and could be converted to two bedrooms if necessary. There is a beautifully restored fireplace and skylights allow you to sleep under the stars.

Hebden Bridge is a pretty market town with a vibrant community. It has a fabulous station which links the town to Manchester and York. Old Town is situated above Hebden Brige on the top of a hill and receives so much sun that the Romans used to cultivate grape vines here.

There's a scenic river flowing through the town and beautiful canals complete with barges. Many of the old factories have been converted and Hebden Bridge has recently been splendidly updated.

Not far away is Haworth of Wuthering Heights fame and Holmfirth where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed.
